Dr. Ng Wei Yan is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist with fellowship training in paediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. He provides specialist eye care for both children and adults, with expertise spanning refractive surgery, cataract surgery, paediatric eye conditions, and complex squint management.

Known for his meticulous surgical approach and patient-centred care, Dr. Ng believes every patient deserves a clear understanding of their condition and treatment options. He takes time to develop personalised management plans, combining evidence-based medicine with modern surgical techniques to help patients achieve the best possible visual outcomes.

Today, Dr. Ng practises at Aurora Eye Centre, where he offers comprehensive ophthalmology services ranging from routine eye assessments to advanced surgical care.

Professional Background

Dr. Ng graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore in 2010.

He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Singapore National Eye Centre and obtained specialist accreditation in Ophthalmology in 2020.

Following residency, he undertook advanced fellowship training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the Singapore National Eye Centre. To further develop his expertise, he also completed specialised overseas training in the management of complex paediatric cataracts.

Prior to establishing Aurora Eye Centre, Dr. Ng served at both the Singapore National Eye Centre and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, managing a broad range of complex paediatric and adult eye conditions.

He continues to serve as a Visiting Consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Research, Innovation & Education

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Ng has remained actively involved in education, innovation and professional development.

He previously contributed to digital innovation initiatives at the Singapore National Eye Centre and participated in the Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Ng is regularly invited to speak at regional and international meetings on topics including paediatric myopia and strabismus management, where he shares his clinical experience with fellow ophthalmologists.
